On September 28-29, an online training on Tuberculosis for people living with HIV took place in Uzbekistan. The event was held by the organization "Ishonch va Hayot!" - "Faith and Life!", within the project "Developing community capacity for involvement and support of PLHIV in TB response" (TB-REP 2.0). The event was attended by 32 people.

At the online training, 9 presentations were made on the theme of tuberculosis: causative agent, ways of transmission, treatment regimens, side effects and adherence." The presentations were provided with video sequences and detailed diagrams. The trainer also underlined such topics as infection control and the structure of the anti-tuberculosis service in Uzbekistan.

It was mentioned that the priorities of the National Tuberculosis Control Program in Uzbekistan are the rapid and maximum coverage of the needy population with new anti-tuberculosis drugs in accordance with the goal of the new WHO "End TB" strategy which envisions a world free of TB by 2035.

There were 3 presentations on the topic of HIV-TB co-infection and its treatment. The presentation on COVID-19 aroused great interest.

“Many thanks to our partners: the National TB Service, represented by the project doctor Dilbar Sadirova, and the Republican AIDS Service represented by the doctor Muborak Bekmetova. They developed and delivered excellent presentations at the training, answered all the participants' questions and analyzed the post-test questionnaires, – said the representatives of "Ishonch va Hayot!" – The training is over, but the project activities are ongoing and picking up the pace. We have already received a number of applications for the training on TB for PLHIV and we will consider these requests in the Calendar of webinars for October. "
